Two 75 kW turbines to South of Poland (Lower Silesia )
On behalf of Turbinova AS, CEDI has installed two integrated Turbosets in a river South in Poland during the Spring 2011. CEDI has on behalf of Turbinova AS and its Polish daughter company developed this technology, and is now installing the first two turbines in Poland. The turbine is designed according to a principle of individual adaptation to natural conditions.
Each Turbinova turbine is designed individually for particular location parameters. In order to supply the Client with a Turboset of a high hydraulic efficiency, model tests of a turbine are run by an independent scientific-research unit, according to a norm PN-EN 60193: “Water turbines, storage pumps and turbine pumps. Model testing“. Before the prototype of a turbine is produced the Company presents the guaranteed efficiency curve of the turbine within the whole operational range. After it is approved by the client, the Company gets to producing and installing the turbine into the power plant.
Model testing offers the highest standard of the guarantee of water turbines in the world. The attached characteristics of the model turbine efficiency is the only and fully reliable document that proved the efficiency of Turbosets produced. Guaranteed hydraulic efficiency is 88% at rated power. The guarantee will be based upon the accepted model tests.
Advantages of the integrated turbine-generator unit:
· simple design,
· there is no gear (it means there are not any additional losses; vibrations decreased by 1,0-1,5%, low noise level),
· there is no control system to adjust runner blades,
· unloaded shaft (the axle),
· mass reduction,
· partly self-acting generator cooling system, · higher efficiency due to using less elements,
· there is a possibility to install at sites of limited space,
· there is a possibility to adapt it to the existing hydro-technical structures.
Basic equipment of the integrated turbine consists of: a synchronous generator with permanent magnet (integrated with the turbine), power-electronic converter, PLC controller with necessary cables. Additionally exists option of control and diagnostic system, protection of the equipment, grid terminal assembly, as well as electric-shock protection and lightning-arresting system (additional equipment is not offered in this proposal).
The prototype installation consists of two 75 kW Turbosets.
They are produced mainly in Poland. The only foreign manufacturer is the PM Generators supplier. It is and Italian Company with long history and experience in manufacturing generators.
